Pahalgam, June 18: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited Pahalgam and Chandanwari on Thursday to review the security situation and assess operational preparedness along the southern route ahead of the commencement of the Amarnath Yatra 2026.
The Army Commander reviewed security arrangements and preparedness measures put in place for the annual pilgrimage.
In a post on X, Northern Command said, “Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, visited Pahalgam and Chandanwari to review the security situation and assess operational preparedness along the Southern Route ahead of the commencement of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.”
“Indian Army is committed to ensuring a safe pilgrimage for all devotees through seamless coordination with all stakeholders, vigilant security measures and comprehensive preparedness,” it said.
