Kitchen requirements top priority despite hefty power bills

Jammu Tawi, Jun 07: As the domestic LPG crisis in Jammu has depended further in the last couple of weeks, the people here have now started using Inductions/heaters on a large scale to meet their kitchen requirements knowing well that they have to pay hefty power bills.
People have no other option as LPG supply is not regular and the KYC has compounded miseries of the consumers.
The sale of Inductions/heaters has gone all time high in Jammu in the prevailing LPG crisis as some wholesale dealers said that their sale has gone up multiple times in the last couple of weeks.
As of now, one LPG consumer can book his cylinder online after 25 days once he gets his first delivery. After booking online, the delivery of next LPG cylinder, as per latest orders, must be made within seven days.
A Manager of Indane Gas Agency, wishing anonymity, said that the feedback given to them says that one domestic LPG cylinder lasts around 24-25 days in an average family having 5.5 members.
In this given scenario, if one LPG cylinder is used up in 25 days, people can book it after 25 days and the delivery of domestic LPG cylinder will be possible after 5-6 days, which may even be delayed more as the LPG supply has been irregular since the last more than 2 months.
This inarguably means that the every family has to wait to for LPG for unspecified time to get the cylinder.
“There is an unprecedented rise in sale of Inductions/heaters in the last around one month,” the owner of Wholesale Friends Electronics said.
“We supply Inductions/heaters to Jammu City and also in the rural areas,” he said, while adding, the sale has gone up all time high and also the companies supplying these have hiked their rates upto 50% keeping in view the increasing demand”.
Some LPG domestic cylinder suppliers confirmed that many consumers have been facing problems due to booking and KYC updation due to which they have started using Inductions/heaters.
“I Supply LPG cylinders to around 5000 families in Jammu City,” Delivery boy Harbans Lal informed the Northlines, while adding, “In these around 5000 houses, around 4500 have started using Inductions/Heaters”.
The people have started using Inductions/heaters on a large scale since the last around one month, he said.
