JAMMU, Feb 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday witnessed noisy scenes and heated exchanges after MLA Khursheed objected to certain remarks made by fellow legislator Randhawa, drawing support from several members.
Khursheed was backed by MLA Irfan Hafeez Lone, National Conference legislators and other members, leading to protests and counter-slogans in the House.
Amid the commotion, an MLA waved a placard reading “Khasra No. 211” in an apparent jibe at Randhawa, who had earlier been issued a show-cause notice by the Jammu Development Authority over alleged encroachment of land under Khasra No. 211 at Chak Ganeshu village in Mandal tehsil of Jammu. (KNC)
