    Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Martyrdom Anniversary: Nagar Kirtan gets warm reception in Jammu, proceeds towards Pathankot

    Jammu/Pathankot/Chandigarh, Nov 20: The Nagar Kirtan commemorating the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji received a heartfelt and spiritual welcome from the sangat in Jammu before proceeding towards Pathankot on Wednesday.

    Devotees walked barefoot alongside the procession during the late-night reception and today’s onward journey. A special stopover was arranged at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, where sangat paid respects. Gatka teams of Sikh youth performed martial art displays as the Nagar Kirtan departed, while devotees showered flowers on the palkan of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

    Gurdwaras across Jammu city, including Akali Kaur Singh Nagar in Digiana, Sant Mela Singh Ji Dastkari Ashram, and Singh Sabha Gurdwara Digiana Camp, offered a warm welcome. Several Sikh groups from Dogyal, Amar, Kunjuwani, Sarore and Vijaypur arranged langars, including kahwa and other traditional offerings.

    In Samba, former minister S. Manjeet Singh joined local sangat to receive the procession. At Rajbagh and Kalibari in Kathua district, the District Gurdwara Management Committee and local devotees organised langars, including sweet lassi. Hatli Morh also witnessed an enthusiastic reception attended by MLA Dr Bharat Bhushan and district officials.

    The Nagar Kirtan’s late-night arrival in Jammu saw a special congregation at Manda, coordinated by the District Gurdwara Management Committee Jammu with support from several city gurdwaras and local organisations.

    RTO Jammu Jasveer Singh and other prominent community leaders were also present for the reception ceremonies.
