TV Actor Susovan makes big-screen debut in ‘Take Care Bhalobasa’

Kolkata, Sept 3 — Television actor Susovan Sonu Roy is set to make his big-screen debut with the Bengali film Take Care Bhalobasa, which began shooting on July 4, 2025. The film, centered on the story of four friends and their relationships, will feature Roy in the role of Joy.

Roy, who hails from Howrah and grew up in Kolkata, lost his father at the age of three and a half. He later completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Dum Dum Motijheel Rabindra Mahavidyalaya, while also training in Western dance and stage performance.

His acting journey began with a workshop under director Pijush Saha, where he trained for over a year and a half before debuting on television in 2019 with Anandamoyee Maa on Aakash Aath. He went on to appear in popular shows such as Mohor, Korapakhi, Jamuna Dhaki, Titli, and Khelaghor, taking on diverse roles, including a negative character alongside Parno Mitra in Korapakhi.

The COVID-19 lockdown briefly slowed his acting career, prompting him to take up modeling assignments for brands like Dabur, Titan Eye+, Amazon, Spencer’s, Campus Shoes, Biotique, and Fiama Di Wills.

In 2024, a workshop brought him into contact with director Soumojit Adak, who later cast him in Take Care Bhalobasa following an audition. With this film, Roy makes the leap from television to cinema, marking a significant milestone in his career.
