Jammu Tawi, March 17: Prominent J&K political leader Vivek Bali has strongly condemned the alleged consumption of alcohol by social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, also known as Orry, and seven others at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine pilgrimage. The incident has caused widespread outrage among locals and pilgrims visiting the revered shrine.
In his statement, Vivek Bali expressed his disapproval of the behavior, calling it “unacceptable and disrespectful,” especially given the sacred nature of Katra. “As a responsible citizen and leader, I urge everyone to maintain dignity and respect for our cultural heritage and religious sites,” he stated.
Bali further stressed the significance of responsible behavior in public spaces, particularly in areas of religious importance, and appealed to social media influencers to be conscious of their actions and their broader societal impact.
He also called for the authorities to take appropriate action against those responsible for the incident, emphasizing the need to ensure that such events do not occur in the future. “I request the authorities to take necessary action against those responsible and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future,” added Bali.
