Jammu, Jan 21: Panic gripped Jammu city on Tuesday afternoon when unidentified gunmen shot at a man driving a luxury jeep (red Thar) near Jewel Chowk area here. Police said that unidentified gunmen (reportedly motorbike borne) fired four bullets at a man driving a Thar near the V-Mart showroom in the BC Road area of Jewel Chowk.
“The critically injured man was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead while police teams reached the spot and launched a manhunt to identify and trace the gunmen,” they said. According the sources, the identity of man killed in the incident is a 37 year old,Sumit Jandial, resident of Vijaypur (W.no. 9) Police, however, are taking the help of CCTVs installed at business establishments near the site of the incident. DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma also visited the spot to take the cognizance of the incident.
