Over 100 Flights Delayed at Delhi Airport Due to Dense Fog

NEW DELHI, Jan 3: More than 100 flights were delayed at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday morning due to dense fog and low visibility, airport officials said. While no diversions have occurred so far, the fog severely impacted flight operations, particularly for aircraft not equipped with CAT III compliance, which is essential for low-visibility conditions.

The Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) informed passengers through a post on X at 6:35 am, stating that landing and takeoff operations were continuing but that delays were expected for non-CAT III compliant flights. Travelers were urged to contact airlines for updated flight information.

The airport, which handles around 1,300 flight movements daily, witnessed significant disruptions due to the fog. Passengers were advised to plan accordingly and stay informed about the status of their flights.
