KP Org files complaint against Iltija Mufti over alleged derogatory remarks

Jammu Tawi, Dec 9: The ‘Youth 4 Panun Kashmir’ (Y4PK) organization on Monday filed a police complaint against Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, for allegedly making derogatory and inflammatory remarks against Lord Rama and the Hindu community.

Vithal Chowdhary, President of Y4PK, lodged the complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell in Delhi, accusing Mufti of posting a tweet that insulted Hindu faith and followers. The complaint cites Sections 302, 325, and 323 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, alleging that her statement is intended to incite communal discord.

Roots in Kashmir (RIK), another prominent Kashmiri Pandit group, has supported Y4PK’s action. Amit Raina, spokesperson for RIK, called Mufti a “habitual offender” and expressed their willingness to assist in ensuring legal action against her.

Y4PK has called for a thorough investigation, the blocking of the offending content under Section 69A of the IT Act, and strict legal proceedings against Mufti. The organisation, in partnership with RIK, reaffirmed its commitment to justice and preserving the sanctity of religious beliefs in India.

Panun Kashmir, the parent body of Y4PK, has long advocated for a separate homeland for the Kashmiri Pandit community, which was displaced during the insurgency in the1990s.
