Mendhar/Jammu, Dec 9: Five individuals were detained on Monday during a search operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking, officials said.
The operation was launched in the forward areas following intelligence inputs regarding drug trafficking in the region. Police personnel cordoned off several areas, including Khari, Ajote, Degwar, Purani, Poonch, and Jernally Mohalla.
During the operation, five people were taken into custody for questioning, according to the officials. The investigation is ongoing.
