Jammu Tawi: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit activists on Sunday paid tributes to the party’s founder, Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray, on his Mahanirvan Diwas, vowing to fulfill his unaccomplished dreams for Jammu and Kashmir. The tribute ceremony was held at the party’s state central office, where leaders pledged to continue Thackeray’s vision of the safe return of Kashmiri Pandits and the eradication of terrorism in the region.
J&K unit chief Manish Sahni, along with party leaders, led the tribute and emphasized the enduring relevance of Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology. “Balasaheb Thackeray, who gave the slogan ‘Garv Se Kaho Hum Hindu Hai,’ instilled a sense of pride and consciousness among Hindus by awakening the spirit of Hindutva,” Sahni said. He added that Thackeray’s vision of a unified India, with “one country, one constitution, and one flag,” remains relevant, particularly in the context of Jammu and Kashmir’s evolving political landscape.
Sahni also highlighted Thackeray’s commitment to a united Jammu and Kashmir, including the integration of Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) and Aksai Chin into India. He noted the current division of the state and the erosion of its special status, expressing concerns over the violation of local residents’ rights and the growing participation of outsiders in the region.
“Balasaheb’s dream of the safe return of Kashmiri Pandits and the end of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir remains unfulfilled,” Sahni said, urging for continued efforts to make this vision a reality.
The tribute ceremony was attended by key party members, including Meenakshi Chhibber, Jai Bharat, Vikas Bakshi, Raj Singh, Bharat Mahajan, Rohan Manwal, Dimple, Sunita Kumari, Jagbir, and Ajay, who all pledged to carry forward Thackeray’s legacy and work towards realizing his dreams for the region.
