Sunderbani, Nov 9: Despite repeated government directives to end staff attachments and ensure the detachment of employees across all departments, the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sunderbani continues to grapple with this alleged practice.
According to sources, some influential officers and doctors reportedly retain colleagues through attachments, raising questions about the enforcement of government policies.
“The government has been clear that staff attachments, which can disrupt departmental functioning and efficiency, should be strictly prohibited,” sources said. However, locals and some staff members doubt whether SDH Sunderbani will ever fully comply with these guidelines.
Powerful individuals within the hospital are allegedly involved in securing attachments for their colleagues, making detachment seem an unlikely prospect.
Sources argue that this issue undermines the hospital’s standards and the integrity of administrative policies.
These influential figures, sources claim, could potentially secure transfers and placements for associates in the future, thereby sustaining an informal network that circumvents official protocols.
“Such practices have raised concerns among the public, who question the commitment of senior health officials to address these irregularities,” sources added. “The administration needs to demonstrate greater honesty and impartiality if SDH Sunderbani is to improve. Enforcing physical security, like a gate barrier, won’t address the core issues.”
Speaking with ‘The Northlines’, a senior health officer, who requested anonymity, described the situation as “a high-level matter” and advised inquiries be directed to the health director or health commissioner.
Sources also mentioned that an inquiry should be launched to determine how salaries are being released from a specific treasury despite these attachments.
