Indian Cricketers to be Rewarded Handsomely for T20 World Cup Victory

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a whopping Rs. 125 crore prize money to reward the Indian team for their incredible T20 World Cup victory in 2024. According to sources, the money will be distributed among the players, support staff, selectors and reserves who were part of the triumphant campaign.

Captain Rohit Sharma and the 15 members of the World Cup squad will each receive Rs. 5 crore for their magnificent performances. Head coach Rahul Dravid will also be rewarded the same amount to recognize his guidance and leadership. The core support staff including batting, bowling and fielding coaches will get Rs. 2.5 crore each.

The unsung heroes of the backroom team like physiotherapists, masseurs and trainers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes will be paid Rs. 2 crore each. The five national selectors led by Ajit Agarkar will receive Rs. 1 crore per person for assembling the talented squad. Even the reserve players who were on standby like Rinku Singh and Shubman Gill will get richer by Rs. 1 crore each.

Those in the squad like opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, wicketkeeper Sanju Samson and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who did not get match time will also be rewarded Rs. 5 crore matching the playing members. Other support associates from video analysts to logistics staff accompanying the team will also be compensated for their service.

It is indeed heartening to see the cash-rich BCCI acknowledging both on-field and off-field contributors generously for bringing joy to the nation with their T20 World Cup glory. This unprecedented prize fund reflects the immense pride Indians felt witnessing Men in Blue lift the trophy after 13 long years.
