Jammu: Pakistani troops on Wednesday violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Bhimber Gali sector.
The Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC at 8:45 am.
The Indian security forces retaliated to the Pakistani misadventure with full vigour.
Two Indian Army jawans were killed and another was injured as Pakistani troops pounded several places, including civilian areas, in J&K on Tuesday.
The Pakistani Army also targeted civilian areas and Indian Army posts along the LoC in Bhimbher Gali and Balakote sectors of Rajouri district as well as the Poonch sector triggering fear among residents.
There were over a dozen of ceasefire violation by Pak army along LoC in J&K in which seven people including four jawans were killed and 12 injured in the month of July this year.
JCO succumbs
Jammu: An Army JCO injured in Pakistani shelling on the Line of Control died on Wednesday,
Junior Commissioned Officer Shashi Kumar was injured in the Nowshera sector on the Line of Control on Tuesday and was undergoing treatment at a hospital, where he passed away.
“The Pakistan Army indulged in unprovoked and indiscriminate firing with small arms, automatics and mortars from 8.45 a.m. in Bhimber Gali Sector (in Poonch district) along the LoC, to which the Indian Army retaliated effectively,” Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta said here.
Two Indian Army soldiers were killed in the LoC shelling and firing in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Defence sources said the Pakistan Army had been violating bilateral ceasefire agreement with impunity in the last three days.
