Prepare framework of FLN Mission activities JK Adm told

Tawi, Jan 25: The Ministry of (MoE) has asked the Jammu and Kashmir government to prepare an implementation framework of activities covering all the focus areas of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) mission.

MoE in a latest Project Approval Board (PAB) meeting has said, “UT is advised to prepare an implementation framework consisting of roadmaps and annual action plans for implementing of activities covering all the focus areas of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mission by following the guidelines of MoE.”

MoE said, “As a part of announcements under Atamnirbhar Bharat and recommendations of NEP 2020, it has been decided to launch a Mission under Samagra Shiksha to ensure that by 2025 every child achieves the desired learning competencies in reading, writing and numeracy at the end of Grade-III.”

The MoE directed all the concerned authorities of the states and Union Territories (UTs) to identify this as one of the major focus areas, for which they have been provided funds for different activities.

“The activities include the provision of Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) or or the supplementary graded materials to all children upto Grade-V such as, worksheets, workbooks and various locally contextualized toys, puzzles, puppets, games, board games, story books, local rhymes, local folk songs, and craft, online access, etcetera,” MoE said.

The PAB minutes of meeting reads, “This also includes the 3-month play-based school readiness, preparation module for all students who enter Grade-I.”

“NCERT will be launching the School Preparation Module (SPM) which can be adapted by the states and UTs as per their local requirements and needs,” it reads
