Diversion of Home Minister’s visit to Gurudwara Chand Nagar stinks of conspiracy: DGPC

Jammu Tawi, Nov 06: District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu and representatives of different Sikh organisations today expressed serious concern over the slow pace of investigation in the murder of their leader Sardar Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Chairman of J&K Gurdwara Prabandhak Board and chairman of All J&K Transport Welfare Association on 3rd September 2021.

The DGPC Jammu and members of different Sikh organizations have condemned the killing of the Sikh leader and have expressed solidarity with the family of Late S. Tarlochan Singh Wazir.

Addressing the media, S. Jagjeet Singh President DGPC Jammu along with S. Fateh Singh Gen. Secretary supported the questions raised by the family of TS Wazir as to why and on whose behest the scheduled program of Union Home Minister, Sh. Amit Shah’s visit to Gurdwara Chand Nagar Sahib to meet the DGPC and Sikh community leaders was shifted to Digiana Ashram Gurudwara Sahib at the eleventh hours without any intimation to the community waiting at Gurudwara Chand Nagar.

The accused some vested interests supported by some people in the Administration for misleading the Union Home Minister and Office of the Lieutenant Governor about the genuine aspirations of the Sikh Community of Jammu Kashmir.

Jagjeet Singh said that people in the administration had told the DGPC that Hon’ble Home Minister would visit Gurudwara Chand Nagar Sahib but later on without any information to the DGPC Jammu it was diverted by some mischievous element to Digiana under a conspiracy. They said we were not against the change of the Home Ministers program location and schedule but the way the event was diverted and mismanaged by one self-proclaimed leader hijacked the entire program without allowing any of the genuine representatives of the Sikh community to address the issues and the problems faced by the minority Sikh community in J&K to the Home Minister.

The entire Sikh community sentiments were hurt as the community issues were not addressed to the Home Minister. “It seems that the programme was shifted to divert the attention of authorities from late S. Tarlochan Singh Wazir’s murder case as the DGPC Jammu and all the Sikh organisations had decided to submit a joint memorandum to Home Minister of India for speedy investigation and uncovering the conspiracy behind this murder. This suspicious & controversial element, supported by a top functionary of the government, not only misled and befooled the entire community in presence of Guru Granth Sahib but had hurt the image and aspirations of the minority Sikh community in the eyes of the Home Minister of India and entire administration” they said.

Jathedar Mohinder Singh, S.Avtar Singh Khalsa, S.Kuldeep Singh, S.Mohinder Singh, S.Ramneek Singh and S.Manmohan Singh Khalsa (All members DGPC Jammu) also joined the press conference.
