Cong, NC, JKAP delegations visit residence of slain Bindru, Supinder

    Srinagar, Oct 8: A high level Congress Party delegation led by AICC J&K Incharge and Member of Parliament Rajani Patil and J&K PCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir along with senior leaders met families of Late M.L Bindroo’s and Principal Supinder Kaur to express solidarity with them.

    According to a statement, the delegation conveyed heartfelt condolences to both the families and prayed for their courage to bear the irreparable loss

    CWC Member Tariq Hamid Karra, General Secretary PCC Surinder Singh Channi and various other leaders were part of the highl level Congress delegation.

    Patil also conveyed condolences to bereaved families on behalf of AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

    On this occasion, AICC Incharge expresses serious concern over the current deteriorating security situation in valley and lashed out at the Centre Government for failing to ensure peaceful atmosphere and safety of members of minority community

    Patil also expressed strong resentment and serious concern over the recent spurt of selective innocent killings especially of minority community members in the heart of Srinagar City and elsewhere in the valley, leading to an atmosphere of great fear amongst the innocent people especially the minorities across Kashmir as well as in other sensitive areas.

    She questioned the Centre’s tall claims of peace and development in valley and said it (Centre) has miserably failed to ensure safety of people.

    She also said the recent spurt of killings refreshes the memory of 1990 like situation, same situation is being repeated in valley and termed it as a big failure of the Centre Government, which is directly running J&K.

    AICC Incharge urged the Centre Govt to take effective measures to ensure peace atmosphere, besides safety of members of minorities and others in Kashmir.

    Omar Abdullah also visited the residence of Late Supinder Kour at Aloochi Bagh, Srinagar and offered condolences with the bereaved family. He was accompanied by Nasir Aslam Wani, Shammi Oberoi, JS Azad and party functionaries there.

    Earlier Party delegation comprising of Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, central secretary Irfan Shah, Minority Wing organizer JS Azad, Moti Singh among others attended the last rites of the School Principal Supinder Kour, who had lost her life in a targeted killing the other day. The functionaries condoled with the bereaved family members of the deceased and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

    Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari along with Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, Vice Provincial President Kashmir Jagmohan Singh Raina and Party Leader Imad Rafi on Friday visited the residence of Late Supinder Kaur, principal who was killed in cold blood at her school in Srinagar yesterday.

    Bukhari asserted that the onus of providing security to the minority communities as well as majority community lies on the government which is responsible for maintaining peace and harmony in the society.

    “The Government must identify and nab the culprits behind these ominous incidents that have created an atmosphere of fear, animosity and distrust. I also urge the religious and civil society members to come forward to thwart the plans of mischief-mongers who seem to be hellbent on creating a communal discord,” he added.

    Bukhari emphasized that killing of any civilian irrespective of his or her religious or ethnic background is highly condemnable and it does not make any difference if the bullet is being fired by an unknown gunman or men in uniform.

    Bukhari expressed solidarity with the bereaved family while terming her killing as extremely barbaric and aimed at breaking the social-fabric of Jammu and Kashmir.

    “Mrs. Kaur was a great teacher who even in hard times continued to serve the people by imparting education to their children. Her killing is a huge tragedy that cannot be described in words,” he added.

    Bukhari also prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irretrievable loss.

    Apni Party leaders expressed deep shock and grief over the incident and conveyed their profound solidarity with the bereaved family, its friends, relatives and acquaintances. They prayed for peace to the departed soul and endurance to the bereaved family to face this difficult time.
