Tawi: BJP committed to strengthen Urban Local Bodies by ensuring every needed step like 74th amendment, said Urban Local Body Cell of BJP Jammu & led by its Incharge Sanjay Kumar Baru (Councillor JMC), whereas he also put forth demand for more infrastructure and additional funds as well as Protocol and Security cover to Councilors.

Sanjay Kumar Baru paid tributes to the martyred BJP leader & Sarpanch Ghulam Rasool Dar along with his wife who was also Kissan Morcha District President from Kulgam. He strongly condemned the incident and said that seeing the unprecedented development in whole of Jammu & Kashmir, terrorists are frustrated beyond limits. He said that whereas, on the initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 73rd and 74th amendments were incorporated in J&K, but still 74th amendment is not fully implemented in Jammu and request hon'ble LG of J&K Manoj Kumar Sinha that those responsible for this dilly dallying approach be identified and taken strict action upon.

Baru, in wake of continued attacks on the lives of public representatives requested that the Municipal Councilors be also given Protocol and security as per on the pattern of DDC members so that they can serve the community with free mind. He further added there are many pending DPRs lying unattended concerning development work in various areas and requested to LG that additional funds may please be released to ease out the public mitigations.
