2 Terror associates arrested in Udhampur, Doda Districts

Jammu Tawi, Nov 29, 2024: Jammu and Kashmir Police have successfully apprehended two associates of terrorist outfits from Udhampur and Doda districts in separate operations. The arrests come as part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on terror-related activities and supporters in the region.

In Udhampur, a hardcore terror associate identified as Abdul Satar, a resident of Ponara Soni, was detained under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA). Satar had been involved in multiple terror cases and was functioning as an active guide and facilitator for terrorist organizations. He had several FIRs filed against him in Police Station Basantgarh. Due to the gravity of his activities, authorities took stringent action by lodging him in jail under the PSA to prevent any further illegal activities.

In Doda, another terror associate, Firdous Ahmed Wani, a resident of Mangota Marmat, currently residing in Dandi, Bhaderwah, was arrested for his involvement in terror activities. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Mehta, Wani had been in regular contact with terrorist handlers from across the border through various social media platforms. He was attempting to revive militancy in Doda by establishing connections with anti-national elements.

A search of Wani’s residence yielded incriminating materials and documents, which have been seized for further investigation. Police revealed that Wani was allegedly planning subversive activities in the Doda area in collaboration with active terrorists and handlers operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK).

SSP Mehta emphasized the commitment of the Doda Police to maintain peace and prevent any attempts to disrupt the region’s stability. Cases have been registered against Wani under relevant sections, and investigations are ongoing.

Both operations highlight the unwavering efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police to counter terrorism and maintain law and order in the region.
