Reasi, Nov 13: Twelve pilgrims were injured in a road accident on Wednesday when their bus collided with another vehicle in Simbal Chowk in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The accident occurred when a bus carrying 35 to 40 pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, en route to the Shiv Khori shrine, collided with an oncoming vehicle. The pilgrims, who had just visited the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, were on a spiritual journey when the crash took place.
According to officials, twelve pilgrims sustained injuries in the incident and were immediately hospitalized. The severity of their injuries remains unclear, but authorities have confirmed that the injured are receiving medical treatment.
The local police have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision, and efforts are underway to provide assistance to the injured pilgrims and their families. The accident has raised concerns over road safety, particularly during the peak pilgrimage season in the region.
