World’s first Adv. Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Surgery sees success at CHC, Katra in India

    Community Health centre Katra, Jammu has added yet another feather in its cap by performing advanced laparoscopic inguinal surgery this time. The CHC katra was earlier in the news for grabbing Kalakalap award. This is first ever in the history of India that an advanced laparoscopic trans abdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) inguinal hernia surgery has been performed at community health centre (CHC). Some expert claims it to be first in the world at community health centre! This surgery was performed and headed by dr. Mukesh Sharma Consultant Surgery at

    a case of right inguinal hernia and advised him laparoscopic surgery . This surgery is rarely been performed at GMC Jammu and other private hospital in Jammu division. Dr Mukesh Sharma has not only performed this advanced surgery but has also remained successful in the first attempt itself with minimal gadgets at Community health centre in India. The cost of such surgery in private sector amount to whooping 100-150K but Dr Mukesh sharma hard work,  talent and selfless initiative can now be provided free of cost to  the people of small sub distt hospital of distt Reasi.
