    World AIDS Day celebrated at Maternity Hospital Gandhinagar

    Jammu Tawi, Dec 1: World AIDS Day was observed at Maternity Hospital Gandhinagar, Government Medical College Jammu, in collaboration with Bee Enn College for Nursing (BECON) and Bee Enn Nursing Institute (BNNI). The event aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and its prevention, with a focus on educating the public and students.

    The chief guests for the occasion were Ashok Verma, President of Young Blood Organization, and Dr. Arun Sharma, Medical Superintendent of Maternity Hospital Gandhinagar. Other attendees included Tazender Singh Premi (Chief Advisor, Young Blood Organization), Raj Kumar (CD President, New Young Blood), Anil Kumar (General Secretary, New Young Blood), Mr. Arjash Raina (Advisor, New Young Blood), along with officers and officials of the Maternity Hospital and student nurses and tutors from BECON and BNNI.

    The program began with a performance by the students, followed by a panel discussion on HIV/AIDS. The discussion was moderated by Fajjar Hassan, with panelists including Kifayat Gul, Bazila Hamid,. Mehak Ali, Himanshi Sharma, Hardik Krishan, Mir Arfat, and mran Bashir. The panel addressed various aspects of HIV/AIDS, its prevention, and the importance of spreading awareness.

    The event also featured the presentation of mementoes to the guests and certificates to the students. A beautiful rangoli created by Jyoti, a student, was appreciated by all present, including guests, students, and hospital officials.

    In addition, the students performed a nukkad natak (street play) in front of the hospital, focusing on HIV/AIDS awareness. The role play participants included Aroosha Nazeer, Alliya Bano, Anchal Devi, Chesfeeda, Gazala Bashir, Govsia Maqbool, Insha Hamid, Insha Rashid, Jyoti, Mahnaza Hassan, and Mehek Nisar.

    The event was organized with support from staff and students, including Shagun Thapa, Ayushman Mitra, Heena Shafi, Bisma Hassan, Basira Gulzar, Bisma Gulzar, Anish, Imtiyaz, Iflak, and Athar.

    The day concluded with refreshments sponsored by the Young Blood Association, bringing the event to a successful close.
