    Woman among 2 drug peddlers detained in J&K’s Kathua

    Kathua, Dec 13 — Two suspected drug peddlers, including a woman, were detained under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, police reported on Friday.

    The detained individuals, Gurnam Singh alias Katta of Chak Drab Khan and Asha Bibi of Khanpur-Marheen, were identified as habitual drug peddlers. Their detention warrants were issued by the Jammu Divisional Commissioner to curb their illegal activities.

    Singh has been named in four FIRs filed under the NDPS Act at Kathua police station since 2021, while Bibi was wanted in connection with two FIRs registered at Rajbagh police station since 2023. Both suspects have been lodged in the central jail at Kot Bhalwal in Jammu.
