    Vande Bharat Train begins commercial ops between Katra and Srinagar

    Jammu, June 7 — Northern Railways launched commercial operations of the Vande Bharat Express between Katra and Srinagar on Saturday, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the train from Katra.

     

    The high-speed service connects Kashmir to the rest of India via rail for the first time, drawing widespread enthusiasm from passengers. Many travelers expressed joy over finally being able to reach Kashmir by train.

     

    According to officials, the inaugural day of commercial operations ran smoothly, with all trains reaching their destinations on schedule. Public response was overwhelming, with most seats booked within hours of the inauguration.

     

    Northern Railway stated that two Vande Bharat train sets completed four trips during the day. The train offers two travel classes — Chair Car (CC) priced at ₹715 and Executive Class (EC) at ₹1,320.
