Status of essential services, road restoration reviewed

District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban Showkat Aijaz Bhat today toured at Batote area to review status of availability of essential commodities and restoration of essential services besides inspecting snow, road clearance operations and obtaining public feedback from public in this regard.
DDC was accompanied by the ADC Dr. Basharat Hussain, CMO, Dr. Saif-u-Din Khan, Xen of PDD and officers of other departments.
DDC took stock of snow and road clearance operations from Batote to Patnitop and link roads besides restoration of electricity and water supply in affected areas and availability of essential commodities. He directed the concerned officers to restore all link roads as early as possible.
DDC informed that restoration work of water, power and road connectivity was initiated on war footing in the entire district.
He also checked the availability of Ration, LPG, Kerosene oil and other items and directed the concerned officers to ensure proper distribution at concerned depots. DC directed Tehsildar to access the loss of locals caused by the heavy snowfall.
He also interacted with the public at various places and heard their grievances, besides passing on spot directions for its redressal. He directed to all officers to stay in their headquarters and keep men and machinery are on high alert in view of the snow prediction for the next days.
Later DDC visited Sher-e- memorial emergency hospital Batote to assess the quality of medical services, heating arrangements, punctuality of staff and patient care at the institute especially during ongoing snow season. He inspected wards of the hospital and interacted with the patients and checked the availability of medicines the medical facilities being provided to the patients in hospital.
