    Sprawling Buds, St. Xavier Climbers dominate in Jammu meet

    , May 13: Kashish Bharti of Shining Star Academy Muthi won gold while Herman and Saksham of Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab secured Silver and Bronze medals respectively in Junior Boys category of the 22nd Jammu District Sport Climbing Championship which commenced at Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, here today.

    In the Junior girls category, Ariti Kumari of JK Montessori School, Talab Tillo clinched the first place while second and third positions went to Meetali Khajuria and Tanisha of St. Xavier School respectively.

    However, Shining Star Academy Muthi dominated the Sub Junior Boys category winning the first two positions. Deepik Singh and Ankit won the gold and silver medal respectively, the bronze medal went to Arjun Magotra of Shastri Memorial Higher Secondary School, Patoli.

    In the Mini Girls category the gold, silver and bronze medals bagged by Himani Chauhan of Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Drsthi Dutta and Deepika Sajgotra of St. Xaxier School. Competitions in other categories were in progress when the last reports were filed.

    Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by president of Mountaineering Association of J&K (MAJK), Zorawar Singh Jamwal in the presence of observers from J&K Council (JKSC), Sat Pal Singh, Manager MA Stadium, Jammu; Rahul Sharma, chairman and Arti Sharma, Director, Sprawling Buds ICSE School; Ram Khajuria, senior vice president; Sumit Khajuria, vice president; Shawetica Khajuria, general secretary and Sonam Sidharth, an executive member of the MAJK; Sakshi Magotra, a sport climbing judge, climbers, Shivani Charak, Shilpa Charak and Arun Deep Singh, Prerna Charak and Anu Sharma; Bharti Bhat, Tanvi Talgotra,Fazal Ahmad and Sudesh Thakur.
