Jaipur, July 25: Yash Dayal, pacer for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has been booked for rape following a fresh allegation lodged at Sanganer police station in Jaipur. The FIR accuses Dayal of repeatedly raping a girl over a period of two years, beginning when she was a minor.
According to the complaint, the victim first met Dayal at an IPL match in Jaipur when she was 17. He allegedly lured her to a hotel in Sitapura under the pretext of offering career guidance, where the first sexual assault reportedly occurred. The victim claims Dayal continued to exploit her emotionally and sexually by promising support for a cricketing career.
The victim claims that this pattern continued for two years, beginning when she was still a minor, which has led the police to register the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a stringent law against sexual crimes involving minors.
Earlier this year, Dayal was booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after a woman from Ghaziabad accused him of sexual harassment and exploitation. The FIR was registered at Indirapuram police station following a preliminary inquiry into a complaint filed through the Chief Minister’s grievance portal (IGRS). (Agencies)
