Schools directed to follow schedule for online, offline classes

Tawi, Sep 17: The School Department on Friday ordered the Head of Institutions (HoIs) of all government and private schools to observe the schedule of online and offline classes.

It also said that the Heads of schools are permitted to conduct offline pre-board examinations for classes' 10th and 12th session 2020-21.

According to the government order, a copy of which lies with the news agency— News Observer (KNO), The primary stage students of first primary to 5th standard, online synchronous learning shall be undertaken for three sessions of 30-45 minutes on each school day.

The department also said that in case of class 6th to 8th (elementary stage) online synchronous learning shall be undertaken for four sessions of 30-45 minutes on each school day.

“For the class 9th to 12th, online synchronous learning shall be undertaken for not more than five sessions of 30-45 minutes on each school day and besides all the schools shall follow a routine time table for classes 6 to 12th via blended learning to ensure completion of prescribed syllabus well before annual examination.

Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIETs) shall impart offline teacher training with restricted gathering to 25 persons,” it reads.

It further states that for the class 10th and 12th, in-person teaching of students, instructions issued by department of District Development Authority shall be followed in and spirit by concerned HoSs—(KNO)
