Jammu, Jan 23: Amid prevailing inclement weather conditions, district administrations in several parts of the Jammu division have ordered the **closure of schools on Friday, January 23, 2026**, as a precautionary measure to safeguard students and staff.
According to official information, **all government and private schools** will remain closed in the districts of **Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi and Udhampur**.
The **Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri** said that all schools in the district have been closed following directions from the **Deputy Commissioner Rajouri** in view of adverse weather. Similarly, the **CEO Poonch** confirmed that schools across Poonch district will remain shut today on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner due to unfavorable weather conditions.
In **Reasi district**, the CEO stated that all government and private schools will remain closed owing to inclement weather, **except institutions falling within municipal limits**, keeping student and staff safety in mind.
Meanwhile, the **Chief Education Officer Udhampur** said that, as per verbal directions from the **Deputy Commissioner Udhampur**, all schools including **primary, middle, high and higher secondary institutions** will remain closed due to heavy rainfall and poor weather conditions.
