Sardar Sarwar Khan laid to rest

Tawi, Dec 02: Sardar Mohd. Sarwar Khan, 87, a former Superintendent of Police who passed away on Thursday, was laid to rest today at the Jammu's traditional burial ground in Rehari in the presence of close friends, family members, prominent citizens, political and social figures, advocates, officials from civil and police administration, who paid their rich tributes to the departed soul.

Khan was not keeping good for the last couple of months and he breathed his last at Super-Specialty Hospital of Government Medical College, Jammu on Thursday evening. Khan is survived by his wife Smt. Khalida Begum, two sons and two daughter who were by his bedside when he passed away.

Sarwar Khan, a descendant of a distinguished family of Jammu was a popular police officer who retired as Superintendent of Police. His father Col Peer Mohd was a Member of Parliament and was president of Jansang,

His son Sardar Farooq Khan too served the state police and retired as IGP and later joined . Farooq Khan is presently Administrator/ LG of Union Territory, Lakhwadeep islands. Khan's second son Sardar Arif Khan is a noted businessman and known figure in the town. His two daughters Smt Yasmeen Khan and Dr. Noreen Khan are well settled in their sphere of life.
