Sajad accuses Omar of settling scores by speaking on killings in 2016

“Do not use dead as ornaments to set stages for public audiences”

Srinagar, Jan 03 (KNS): Thanking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for providing passport to him and his kids, Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings and Science & and MLA Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday accused former chief minister Omar Abdullah of settling scores by speaking on killings of civilians in 2016.

Responding to the criticism for joining hands with the right-wing BJP, Lone said that he is thankful to BJP who provided them passport which were denied to him by Congress government in New Delhi.

“I am thankful to BJP because they provided me passport and visa to (my) kids which was denied during Congress regime in Delhi,” Lone said.

Accusing Omar Abdullah of settling scores by speaking on killings of civilians in 2016, Lone said that his focus was more on role of opposition in 2010 than killings in 2016. “Omar didn't express sorrow over killings in 2016 but complained more about role of opposition in 2010,” he said.

“When I met PM Modi for the first time, I was scared that I may be killed. But later I realised when a leader like Omar Abdullah wasn't killed for having alliance with the BJP for five years, why should I be killed,” he said, adding that the political parties have no right to use dead people as “ornaments to set stages for public audiences.”
