Akhnoor, March 2: Sahib Bandagi’s Sadguru Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj addressed the congregation today at Sungal Road, Akhnoor, offering profound insights into the nature of the soul and the consequences of sin. He emphasized that all religions of the world unanimously agree on the immortality of the soul and the existence of heaven and hell, explaining that while some might stubbornly deny these truths, they are widely accepted across religious teachings.
The discourse featured an anecdote about a Chaudhary from Delhi, who, in a boastful manner, challenged anyone to explain the eighteenth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita in exchange for a cow. His wife, understanding the significance of such a challenge, warned him that someone might indeed explain it, and he would lose the cow. However, the Chaudhary dismissed her, claiming that no one would be able to do so. The story illustrated the resistance some people have to accepting deeper truths, even when they are right in front of them.
Sadguru Ji Maharaj then shared a powerful story about a king who lived in indulgence, oblivious to the consequences of his actions. He was shown a vision of hell, revealing the intense and unimaginable sufferings that await sinners. The descriptions were vivid: sinners are thrown into seven deep vessels filled with substances like mud, blood, excreta, pus, urine, and fire. Those who try to escape are struck with hammers. This vision of hell, according to the Sadguru, is not a mere story, but a reality confirmed by saints across time.
He explained that the torment in hell is akin to the torment felt in dreams, where one experiences intense pain even though the dream itself is not real. Just like in dreams, the world too is an illusion, neither true nor permanent. The suffering in hell is an expression of the spiritual consequences of sin, such as lying, killing, infidelity, and causing harm to others. He warned against these actions, which lead to eternal torment.
Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj also spoke of the brutal and unjust acts of tyranny throughout history, citing examples like Uganda’s President Idi Amin and Adolf Hitler, who inflicted unbearable pain on their victims. He reminded the audience that such actions mirror the suffering of hell, highlighting the need to follow a virtuous life to avoid such fates.
The Sadguru stressed that all religions unequivocally condemn sin, particularly the sin of lying, which he stated carries the heaviest punishment in the afterlife. He warned against the temptations of materialism and advised that one should never steal or indulge in wrongful desires, as these actions can lead to disastrous consequences. The Guru’s teachings underscored the importance of purity in thoughts and actions to avoid the path to destruction, likening sinful actions to the most severe forms of torment in hell.
In conclusion, Sadguru Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj urged the audience to refrain from sinful acts, live with integrity, and avoid temptations that lead to a lifetime of regret. He reminded them of the suffering that follows wrongdoing and emphasized the need for spiritual discipline and devotion to escape such a fate.
