Jammu Tawi: During a spiritual discourse in Rakhbandhu today, Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj captivated the congregation with profound teachings on the purity of the soul and the nature of human bondage. He explained that while water is inherently pure, it becomes contaminated when mixed with impurities, just as the soul remains pure until it is tainted by ignorance and attachment.
Sadguru Ji emphasized that many people, particularly in modern society, lack curiosity about salvation, as they are focused on worldly pursuits like education, marriage, and family life. He remarked that people often follow the paths of their parents without questioning the deeper purpose of life. Drawing a parallel to a child who doesn’t yet understand the value of money, Sadguru Ji highlighted that humans fail to recognize the value of salvation until they experience loss or death. “We pray for the soul after death, acknowledging its immortality,” he said, emphasizing the importance of understanding the soul and its true nature. The soul, he noted, is eternal, unlike the body, which is subject to decay.
Sadguru Ji further explained that humans are bound by their mind and the illusion of the material world, which keeps them from realizing their true potential. He called the mind the “greatest enemy,” as it is responsible for all sinful acts. However, he stressed that without the guidance of the “true name” and spiritual practice, one cannot free themselves from the mind’s grip.
The Sadguru also clarified that the world, including the concepts of Guru and disciple, is an illusion—what is real is the “true name” known only to saints. He referred to the supreme power as “Sahib” or Niranjan, which transcends the material world. Through this teaching, Sadguru Ji urged the congregation to seek spiritual liberation through the wisdom of the Sadguru and to understand the true nature of their existence.
In closing, Sadguru Ji reiterated that only through the power of the name and inner realization can the soul be freed from the illusion of Maya (material illusion) and the bondage of the mind.
