Petrol price up by 28 paise; diesel cut by 6 paise

Date:

New Delhi:  Petrol price was hiked on Friday by 28 paise a litre while diesel rate was cut by 6 paise per litre in line with trends. The new rates will be applicable from midnight of September 30, 2016 and October 01, 2016.

Price of non-branded petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 64.58 a litre from midnight tonight as against Rs 64.21. Similarly, diesel will cost Rs 52.51 a litre as compared to Rs 52.59 a litre.

Petrol price was last hiked on September 15 by a 58 paisa a litre, however, diesel price was cut by 31 paisa a litre.

The current level of international product prices of Petrol & Diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of Petrol and decrease in selling prices of Diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision, IOC said in a statement.
