Pakistan to push militants into J&K despite snow

Tawi, January 9 (KIP): Militants have renewed their strategy under
which  they are able to attack security personnel. Their handlers
across the border are said to have devised the new strategy. These
militants are helped in sneaking into Jammu and and instead of
moving into the villages or towns they attack the security pickets on
    the border.

The first indication of the new strategy was available when militants
killed three General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) personnel in Batal
area of Akhnoor when they attacked the platoon camp on early Monday
    morning.

The GREF platoon is located 2 kms from the Line of Control in
Akhnoor. The entire area  has been area cordoned off  to nab the
    killers through search operations.

Following this incident security forces have been asked to be
vigilant and never lower their guard while having breakfast, lunch,
tea or dinner. During this time  some soldiers be asked to be on duty
to ensure safety of those engaged  in eating their food or playing
    some games.

Troops deployed on the  LOC have been asked  not get misled by the
heavy snow on the border routes because Pakistani Army has plans to
push groups of militants into the Kashmir valley for fuelling a new
    phase of turmoil.,

Triggering violence afresh in the valley could influence the UN
Secretary General who has announced that he may intervene in the
matter so that he was able to promote peace between and
    Pakistan.

In fact the new UN Chief has been motivated by Pakistan to intervene
which is a departure from the old practice when the UN bosses had
declared that there was no need for intervention because it was a
bilateral issue that  needed settlement through bilateral talks. (KIP)
