Pakistan-occupied Kashmir anthem played before cricket match in J&K’s Pulwama – Video goes viral

Srinagar: The anthem of Pakistan-occupied (PoK) was played during a local match in and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday.

A video of the cricket match between Pulwama hunters vs Pampora IX, which was played on Sunday has gone viral on social media.

The Police is yet to initiate action against the organisers and the spectators who were heard shouting anti-India slogans.

Last month a local Kashmiri cricket club triggered a huge controversy after a video surfaced on the social media showing its players wearing Pakistani cricket team's uniform. The team members also sang the Pakistani national anthem before the start of the match.

Ever since, Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter last year, the Valley has been witnessing widespread protests.

With concerns being raised about the situation in Kashmir, the top BJP leadership on Sunday said the government was working on a plan to return the state to normalcy and would find a permanent solution to the issues troubling the valley.
