Pak destabilized by its animosity towards India: Anurag Thakur

Jammu Tawi: Senior BJP leader Anurag Thakur on Monday reaffirmed India’s stance of never wishing ill for Pakistan, while criticizing the neighboring country for destabilizing itself with its animosity toward New Delhi. Thakur emphasized that India has always sought peaceful relations but had to respond firmly to Pakistan’s provocations at the border.

“The one who kept an evil eye was ruined,” Thakur said, reflecting on the ongoing tensions between the two countries. He also pointed to India’s recent victory over Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy as a symbol of the nation’s strength.

During a press conference, Thakur also addressed the controversy surrounding USAID’s USD 21 million funding to boost voter turnout in India. He claimed that this funding fully exposed efforts by foreign powers to weaken Indian democracy, including links between the Congress leadership and US-based billionaire George Soros. He congratulated citizens for strengthening democracy by electing the BJP-led government for a third term.

Thakur further voiced support for initiatives to address health issues, including Prime Minister Modi’s nomination of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to combat obesity. He welcomed the formation of a new party by former Jamaat-e-Islami leaders in Kashmir and highlighted the importance of efforts to bring back displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

Thakur also called for the identification and deportation of Rohingya immigrants in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing concerns about the direct train service to Kashmir, he emphasized the need for a joint tourism strategy that would benefit both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. Thakur concluded by emphasizing the importance of the Union Budget in advancing India’s development and assuring that Jammu and Kashmir would remain a priority for the BJP.
