New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon on Friday following uproar by opposition members over various issues soon after the House assembled.
When proceedings began at 11:00 AM, Speaker Om Birla attempted to take up the Question Hour, but opposition members stood up and started raising their concerns, leading to noisy scenes in the House.
Birla said that Question Hour is an important period during which members raise national as well as regional issues and seek answers from the government.
He expressed concern over the disruptions, stating that some members were not following parliamentary decorum. The Speaker emphasized that the sanctity of the House must be maintained both inside and outside Parliament.
Birla also said the conduct and behaviour being displayed by the opposition was undermining the dignity of the House and added that creating disruptions in a planned manner was not appropriate. (Agencies)
