New Delhi: The controversy surrounding ban on Pakistani artistes working in has taken the country by storm, with recently Pakistan Electronic Media Regulator (PEMRA) also banning all Indian content on television and radio.

Reportedly, Pakistan media regulator approved a blanket ban on airing of Indian content in Pakistan from October 21, 2016. However, addressing a press briefing recently, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Vikas Swaroop said, “There's no blanket ban on Pak artists in view of prevailing atmosphere.”

“This is unfortunate and I think it shows a lack of self-confidence, said he on Pakistan imposing a complete ban on Indian television.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured peaceful release of Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) which had run into trouble for featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan after Film & Television Producers Guild of India president Mukesh Bhatt had a meeting with him. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had threatened to stall the release of ADHM because it features Pakistani artist Fawad Khan.
