RAMBAN, Feb 05: The -Srinagar Highway again closed for traffic on today after overnight rains triggered landslides at several places from Patnitop to Jawahar Tunnel of district Ramban.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Ramban Sanjay Bhagat said that at  in between Patnitop to Ramban there were heavy landlside at Nashri.

He further said that men and machines of GAMMON Company is on work to clear the stretch.

He maintained that in between Jawahar Tunnel and Ramban there were heavy shooting stone and landslides at several places including Seri, Maroog and Sher Bibi areas.

“Authorities had decided not to allow any type of vehicle on National Highway” he added.

Meanwhile, reports are comming from Banihal and Gool that several houses were damaged due to windstorm and rains in Mahoo Mangit of Khari tehsil of Banihal and 5 houses were also partially damaged in Deodi area of Gool.

In tehsil Khari the administration has  constituted a control room in khari in order to monitor any eventuality due to the prevailing harsh . People of the tehsil are requested to contact on the below given numbers for any kind of assistance 9906079831
