Newborn killed due to rat-bite in Kishtwar district hospital

A newborn baby, died due to rat bite in a district hospital in Kishtwar earlier today.

Ghulam Hassan, resident of Chhatru area of Kishtwar had taken her wife, who was in labour pain, to the disrtict hospital. His wife delivered a baby boy on Thursday evening. Later, the boy was shifted to maternity ward. But after sometime, when Ghulam visited the ward to see his son, he found that the boy was dead. He saw that there were rat-bite marks on the head of new born.

The news of child’s death by rat-bite spread like wild-fire in hospital premises. This has led to various accusations on hospital authorities, while the hospital administration is mumb on the incident. The problem is that there is no cleanliness even in the new-born ward
