    A low intensity earthquake shook and 's mountainous Doda district early Monday morning, but no damaged to any human or property.

    The panic-stricken people rushed out of their homes in Bhaderwah when the quake, whose epicenter was 7 kilometers from Bhaderwah, rattled the picturesque valley.

    The quake, measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale, struck Bhaderwah, Doda, Gandoh and Bhallessa areas of the district around 6:30 AM, according to reports.

    “There is no report of any casualty or damage to property,” Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhaderwah Sargun Shukla told.

    People of Chenab are apprehensive of tremors after a study of the US scientists published last year,  which predicted that there is a possibility of major earthquake in J&K.

    A tremor measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale had hit the area earlier this month on December 3.
