    Militants escape after wounding two soldiers

    Hajin, Dec 29 : Two soldiers were injured in a gun battle that raged in Shahgund Hajin area of northern district of , Bandipora Thursday morning between militants and security forces.

    Sources said that on a specific input about the presence of militants in the area, army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of and Kashmir police launched a joint operation in Shahgund Hajin area in the wee hours of Thursday.

    Police officials said that militants, believed to be three in number, opened fire at the forces who were laying a siege in Gulshanpora Mohalla of Shahgund in Hajin, injuring two army men. The injured army men have been shifted to a hospital.  Reports said that the suspected militants managed to escape from the area.
