Manjit Club wins Aurangzeb Volleyball trophy

Poonch, Sept 22: Shaheed DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Club clinched the title trophy of the Shaheed Aurangzeb Memorial Tournament which was organised by the Indian Army (39 RR), here today.

In the final, Manjit Club defeated Star Volleyball Club Chatral 3-0 (25-19, 29-27, 25-16). Mohd Hafiz, Ramiz Tariq, Zahid Hussain and Musharraf Khan played well for the winning team.

The winners and runners-up teams presented the title trophies by the chief guest, Mohd Hanif, father of Shaheed Aurgangzeb. The winner team got Rs 5,000 cash prize while runners-up, Star Club received Rs 3,000.

Earlier, in the second semifinal, Shaheed Manjit Club defeated Shaheed Aurangabad Memorial Club in straight sets.

Prominent among others present were Mohd Shabir, Sadarat Hussain, Hamid Ahmed and Intazar Ali besides Sarpanch and members of the civil society.
