Leh: Literacy India, a non-profit organization in partnership with Teleperformance India, a leading provider of digital integrated business services, has launched Pathshala 2.0, a unique program aimed at providing quality education and skill training to rural and urban slums in India. The project is aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and has been developed by Literacy India over the last two decades. The program utilizes technology-integrated education, smart classes, and ‘Grassroot to Future Skill' training and has impacted over 200 children, adolescents, youth, and women in the surrounding communities of Village Alchi in Leh District. It offers a variety of educational opportunities, including digital learning classes utilizing Literacy India's flagship Gyantantra Digital Dost programto help students achieve accelerated learning up to grade 5.
Pathshala 2.0 also offers vocational training in tailoring, culinary skills, and beauty & wellness for women and youth with an aim to empower individuals with lifelong learning and promote educational opportunities in the community.
“In line with our commitment to being a Force of Good, Teleperformance India employees are active volunteers for engaging, coaching, and mentoring students of Literacy India. We have helped establish infrastructure for the school, built recreation rooms and coached a group of Vidyapeeth students on modules related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) through our Digital Mentorship Program,” shares Jenifer Dwivedi, Communication & CSR lead, Teleperformance India.
“Citizen of the World (COTW) is Teleperformance's charitable initiative that seeks to generate a positive impact on local communities, particularly vulnerable children, and their families. Teleperformance India aims to equip the children with basic education and the youth with recruitment readiness interventions through mentorship programs to enable them to get hired and sustain a livelihood,” says Vinod Mehta, Chief Human Resource Officer, Teleperformance India & APAC. Several activities conducted under the Teleperformance`s COTW initiatives like Independence Day Celebration, Dancing Session, Cooking & Culinary skills, and Storytelling sessions have been well received by students in Leh. The Volunteering engagement of the Teleperformance employees has helped the students get exposure to the outer world, sparked creativity and enriched learning experiences for them.
