Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed that key offices of the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department will function from both Srinagar and Jammu during the winter season 2025–26 to ensure uninterrupted public services.
According to Government Order No. 522-Home of 2025, the dual-office arrangement covers the Police Headquarters, Prisons Headquarters, Directorate of Prosecution, Police Housing Corporation, Homeguards, Civil Defence & SDRF, Fire & Emergency Services, Forensic Science Laboratory, Sainik Welfare, and Defence Labour Procurement offices.
The Heads of Departments have been instructed to maintain equitable distribution of officers and staff between the two capitals to ensure smooth coordination and effective functioning throughout the winter months, the order stated.
