Jammu Tawi, Jan 1: The 17th Junior National Roll Ball Championship concluded successfully at the Maulana Azad Stadium here on Thursday, with Sports Minister Satish Sharma urging young players to act as ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir and spread the message of unity, peace and sporting excellence across the country.
Held from **December 29, 2025 to January 1, 2026**, the four-day championship saw enthusiastic participation from junior Roll Ball teams representing various States and Union Territories, showcasing high levels of skill and competitive spirit.
In the **boys’ category**, **Rajasthan** emerged champions, followed by **Uttar Pradesh** as runners-up and **Maharashtra** in third place. In the **girls’ category**, **Assam** clinched the title, while **Tamil Nadu** and **Maharashtra** secured second and third positions respectively.
The valedictory function at M.A. Stadium was graced by **Ms. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council**, as Chief Guest, who felicitated the winners and runners-up by distributing medals and trophies. In his message, the Sports Minister congratulated all participants and encouraged them to share their experiences of J&K’s diversity and hospitality with the rest of the nation.
**Sh. Goutam Daluja**, President, Roll Ball Federation of India, along with senior federation officials, attended the ceremony. The federation appreciated the J&K Sports Council and the Government of J&K for excellent infrastructure, hospitality and smooth conduct of the event.
Individual honours saw **Siya Sankholiya of Assam** adjudged Best Player in the girls’ section, while **Jonathan Advard of Kerala** was named Best Player in the boys’ section, reinforcing J&K’s growing stature as a national sports host.
