Srinagar, Jan 28: Traffic on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was partially restored on Wednesday with Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) being released from the Qazigund–Navyug Tunnel towards Jammu after a day-long suspension, officials said.
An official of the Traffic Police said the movement of LMVs was permitted following improvement in road and weather conditions along the highway.
The vital road link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country had been closed earlier due to continuous snowfall, which disrupted vehicular movement and severely affected traffic flow.
Confirming the development, the SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir told KNC that traffic movement towards Jammu had been restored.
Commuters have been advised to exercise caution and strictly adhere to traffic advisories before undertaking travel on the highway, officials added. (KNC)
