Tawi, February 02: The Jammu and Development
Corporation (JKTDC) has deposited Rs 30 lakhs to Sales Tax department under the amnesty
scheme enabling a saving of Rs 2.10 Cr for JKTDC, a press release from office of its Managing Director's office said.

The Government Corporation has availed the official Amnesty scheme for regularising its tax evasion to the tune of Rs. 2.40 Crore.

JKTDC Management in a meeting has granted in-situ promotion to 27 employees of
various categories placing them in higher grades. Meanwhile, 36
helpers having completed more than 11 years of service regularised
have been adjusted against Class-IV vacancies.

The management also released Rs 1.60 crore in favour of 50 retired
employees as gratuity arrears while an amount of Rs 60 lakh was
released to retirees as arrears of 6th pay commission. A screening
committee of JKTDC has also submitted 174 cases to Government for
regularisation of helpers. In order to settle the outstanding dues of
retired employees an amount of Rs 10 lakh is being released every
month.
Those accorded promotions include 2 Pantrymen, 1 each orderly, Floor
Supervisor, Asstt Cook, Sweeper, Chowkidar and 31 helpers while those
regularised employees adjusted against 36 vacancies of Class IV are
from 6 different professional categories of the corporation.

A proposal is being submitted to Tourism Department, J&K Government of filling the vacancies. An amount of Rs 3.20 Cr is being provided for clearance of CP fund liabilities of employees by March 2017.
