Srinagar, Dec 31: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said they recovered a Chinese-made pistol, two hand grenades, ammunition and cash amounting to ₹8.40 lakh from two persons in Ganderbal district.
A senior police officer said the recovery was made during a late-evening operation conducted by Police Station Ganderbal in coordination with the Special Operations Group (SOG) near Gundrehman Bridge.
The accused were identified as Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Hajin in Bandipora district, and Shabnum Nazir of Shalabugh in Ganderbal. They were travelling in an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number JK15B-7309 when police intercepted the vehicle.
Police said a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway. (KNC)
